Disorient

Creative, Digital Design & photography

Disorient is an Asian Australian based brand,
with a focus on creating unique streetwear pieces. This label was heavily influenced by Asian culture and I wanted this to reflect in the illustrative work and the photography.

The illustrative elements for this brand was initially heavily influenced by the Japanese Sukeban from the 70’s, which is a term that means “delinquent girl”. This running theme of rebellious girl gangs aligned with the anti-patriarchal identity.

For the photography there was an emphasis on uplifting and representing more diverse models, with a focus on Asian representation. The accompanying photographic elements used also leaned heavily on photos taken in Asia or photos that held a nostalgic or unique experience for Asian Australian culture.
